Stephen Curry, the ‘chef’ cooks the Mavericks and equals the legendary Dirk Nowitzki’s stellar record for the 11th-most number of playoff games with 30+ points

Is that a bird? Is that a plane? Neither, its Stephen Curry launching and dropping 3-pointers from all over the place. The vintage, ‘3rd-quarter Warriors’ stormed Dallas, tore their defense down with a spearhead by the name of Stephen Curry. ‘Chef’ Curry dropped 32 points while Kevon Looney had a career-high 21 points and 12 rebounds, as the Warriors rallied past the Dallas Mavericks 126-117 on Friday for a 2-0 lead in the Western Conference finals. With many esteemed guests in attendance, including legendary rapper Lil Wayne and the former Dallas stalwart, Dirk Nowitzki himself.

Many Golden State Warriors Fans might’ve turned off their TV’s at halftime as the Warriors had a 14-point deficit to take care of against this resilient Dallas defense. However, the classic Warriors fans knew what was coming in the 2nd half, as Steph Curry along with Kevon Looney and Jordan Poole set the court ablaze with an electric display. Curry scored 32 points with six 3-pointers and 8 rebounds, Looney had a career-high 21 points and 12 rebounds, as Jordan Poole scored 23 points in a signature comeback for the Warriors.

Luka Doncic was a beast on the court as he dropped 42 points and the Mavericks led most of the way before Golden State grabbed its first lead of the night on Otto Porter Jr.‘s 3-pointer 18 seconds into the final quarter. He did everything in his power to get this game over the line for his team as he was a mere spectator to the Chef Curry show. Jalen Brunson was in supporting role today with 31 points to his name, in addition to 7 assists and 5 rebounds

The Golden State Warriors hosted the Dallas Mavericks at Chase Center for Game 2 of the western conference finals. The game was closely contested and head to head and favored the Mavs to win it and even the series throughout the first half. But the Warriors took control over the game in the third and fourth quarters and won it all. They made a comeback of 19 plus points and it was Stephen Curry at the helm of it all. Stephen Curry tonight was perfect from the field in the 4th and scored 10 in the quarter to close out the Mavs. He equaled Dirk Nowitzki’s record of 46 playoff games with 30+ points, as the former NBA Champion was in attendance, cheering for Dallas.

Then Curry and the Golden State Warriors delivered one of those signature third-quarter flurries that have defined so many of their postseason runs – with this one sparked by Kevon Looney. Just like that, the Warriors are two wins from getting back to another NBA Finals. ‘‘Night night” Curry signaled as he banged in a 3-pointer through the net in the dying moments of the game.

“We have that attitude and spirit that we’re never out of it,” Curry said. It is the 12th time that the Warriors have bounced back from a deficit of 15 points or even greater in the playoffs to win the game since Steve Kerr took over as head coach prior to the 2014-15 season. Curry has been sensational throughout the opening two games of the Western Conference finals. He posted a double-double in Game 1 with 21 points and 12 rebounds, and followed it up with a team-high 32 points in Friday’s emphatic victory.

The loss has to be a deflating one for Dallas, especially after how well they played in the first half. Plus, no team wants to fall behind by two games in a playoff series. They’ll have to figure out a way to bounce back at home. The series now moves to Dallas for Game 3 as Luka Doncic and company try to come up with a plan to not suffer anymore at the hands of the King in The West, Stephen Wardell Curry
