Stephen Jackson recently sitting alongside Colin Cowherd discussed Kevin Durant in regard to the Brooklyn Nets and Boston Celtics first-round playoff series at “The Herd with Colin Cowherd”. The playoff series between the Kevin Durant-led Brooklyn Nets and Jayson Tatum-led Boston Celtics is surely the most entertaining one so far in the postseason. As the games are going back and forth but at the end, it’s the Boston Celtics outshining the Brooklyn Nets and leading the series by 2-0. Stephen Jackson with his experience of the game and knowledge just talked about the reasons behind it.
Both games played so far in the series are closely contested and head to head. But the young duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown with Marcus Smart the DPOY in the backcourt is so far been the better match-up if compared to Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant of the Brooklyn Nets. The Brooklyn Nets have the best offensive duo in the league who can dominate any team any day so nothing can be said by just a two-game loss. But this time the Celtics are out for revenge as Kevin Durant and the Nets aren’t able to break their defensive end to win games as in Game 2 they busted a 15-plus points lead.
In game 1 Kevin Durant dropped 23 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists while making 9 out of the 24 attempted shots from the field and 1 from the 5 attempted three-pointers. The story continued in Game 2 too as KD got himself 27 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists while going 4 for 17 from the field and 1 for 2 behind the arc. He was good on the line in both the games though but was never able to finish any. Stephen Jackson though recently discussing the series specifically around Kevin Durant gave away some important takeaways sitting alongside Colin Cowherd.

Stephen Jackson talking about the most interesting series and Kevin Durant quoted: “They’re in trouble simply for the fact that they’re getting punked, and that’s basically what’s going on. The best defensive team in the league is playing like it…I’ve never seen KD get his shot blocked this many times by one player. Jayson Tatum is really taking the challenge and locking KD up. I don’t wanna hear about he’s having bad games. This is two games in a row. Boston is playing great defense. Steve Nash is getting outcoached. It’s clearly shown by his lineups…dont give them the whistle just because they at home because Boston has been more physical at home…Steve Nash is surely getting outcoached.”
Stephen Jackson is not wrong at all with his words as all that he said is very true and happening in reality. The Celtics are holding down the Nets as they are playing physically with the offensive superstar who is also one of the greatest scorers the league has ever seen. Stephen Jackson also appreciated Boston Celtics’ defensive end and criticized KD for not hitting the weight room. But still, the Nets stand a fair chance as they’ll be hosting the Boston Celtics at Barclays Center for Game 3 with home-court advantage and maybe some friendly whistles.
