The Golden State Warriors’ coach, Steve Kerr, recently had something to say. Rather than a game plan, he spoke about the noise at the Phoenix Suns‘ arena. Known for his even temperament, Kerr unveiled the issues coaches face beyond court strategies.

Post-game, Kerr shared his dislike for the atmosphere at the Suns arena. He emphasized the need for a teamwork environment, and how focus, discussions, and communal energy bolster performance. Kerr wasn’t thrilled with the blasting music that kept playing during the game.

During the post-game conference, Steve Kerr stated:

It's like a South Beach club I thought what are we doing? I am being dead serious. I couldn't hear anything. It was just the same, the whole game was thumping techno club music, can we just have a basketball game? what the hell! sorry for the rant

For Kerr, the main issue was the constant music affecting players’ on-court communication. In a high-speed game requiring swift decisions and planned actions, any hindrance to clear communication can hinder the team’s performance. Kerr’s comments during his post-game speech may have raised some eyebrows, but they also shed light on an ongoing debate. Can factors outside of the actual basketball match alter the game’s flow? One hot topic is arena music. How loud should it be, and what type should be played? Some people believe loud music boosts the crowd’s excitement. Others, like Kerr, think it could cause distractions.

Suns shine bright: Phoenix secures fifth straight win over Steve Kerr’s Warriors

The Phoenix Suns secured a win, beating the Golden State Warriors 123-115 on Wednesday. This wasn’t an ordinary game: it marked the Suns’ fifth consecutive win. Chris Paul, a former Sun, was ejected because of two technical fouls. His counterpart Kevin Durant, scored a whopping 32 points. Devin Booker added 25 points. Despite their efforts, the Warriors lost.

Paul’s ejections due to back-to-back technical fouls in the second quarter had a severe impact on the game. He was unhappy with a foul call. Adding to the drama, Steve Kerr (Warriors’ coach) also got a technical foul for speaking up for Paul.

The Suns’ lead grew from 16 to 23 points in the third quarter. With Paul and Draymond Green out and Curry and Klay Thompson resting, the Warriors tried to close the gap. They started the fourth quarter with a 6-point run and cut the lead to ten points; however, in the end, the effort was just not good enough for them to win.
