Another game. And another disappointing loss for the Golden State Warriors. It’s shocking seeing how they have gone from title favorites at the beginning of the season to hardly getting any wins. And it was the same case last night against the Los Angeles Lakers. While the anger was certainly there in the team, Steve Kerr made it clear that he would be on his best behavior despite the number of free throws that were given to the visiting side.

Kerr in their postgame interview after their loss, said:

I might comment on the free throws that they shot, but my mom is here right now and I want to be on my best behavior.

It was yet another hard-to-swallow moment for the Warriors, who lost by a close score of 145-144 against the winners of the inaugural In-Season tournament. But the game was far from equal at the Chase Center. That’s what Steve Kerr thinks when asked about the free-throw disparity.

The Los Angeles Lakers, who had 43 free throws during the entirety of the game managed to score 38 out of them. Not a similar story to the Golden State Warriors, who got 16, a quarter less than the visitors, and got only 11 points out of them. While the Lakers being a more physical team was mentioned, Steve Kerr decided to not make any comments, purely for the fact that his mother was present there and he wanted to be on his “best behavior”.

Warriors spiral down once again

2024 hasn’t been the best start for the Golden State Warriors with 11 losses already out of 13. And their latest fall came at the hands of an “on a redemptive arc” Los Angeles Lakers side. While the scoreline was a close 145-144 loss to the Bayside, there were some brilliant solo performances from both sides.

For the Warriors, it was Stephen Curry yet again carrying the team with 46 points and 7 assists. Draymond Green, who was suspended for a period of time, looked sharp enough on his aspects of playing style 14 rebounds and 11 assists. But it wasn’t enough to stop LeBron James and his side from getting their away victory. James, who got a triple-double, contributed 36 points, 12 assists, and 20 rebounds and looked sharper than ever despite the backlash and naysayers behind his back.

A good win for the visitors and yet another game slipped from the hands of the Warriors. For Steve Kerr and his side, it looks like a monumental climb into the season now. But will they? It was a question to be answered later in the season.
