Steve Kerr’s 2022 Championship triumph reveals just why he is amongst the best coaches of all-time in NBA

Steve Kerr steers the Warriors to glory
There was a lot of speculation about where Steve Kerr and Golden State will be at the end of this NBA season, after suffering their worst couple of years in recent history. People forget that ‘Warriors’ is their name, it is a part of who they are, winning is in their DNA. The Warriors have stepped up and claimed what is theirs, their opponents have bowed down, and the haters are nowhere to be seen, as the Golden State Warriors clinch their 4th NBA Title in 8 seasons.
Stephen Curry has dismembered his critics, obliterated every hurdle on his way and has led the path for Golden State to rise from its ashes to the their rightful throne. The Golden State Warriors are NBA champions after coming away with a 103-90 victory over the Boston Celtics in Game 6 of the NBA Finals at TD Garden on Thursday night.
g from 35 feet, simply the greatest display of shooting we’ve ever seen! In the end, Curry, once again, led the way for Golden State on the offensive end. He finished the series-clinching win with a team-high 34 points, seven rebounds and seven assists, adding yet another chapter to his already storied career.

The rest of the Warriors offered Curry plenty of help as Andrew Wiggins, Jordan Poole, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson all scored in double figures as well. On the other end, the Celtics were led by Jaylen Brown, who did all he could with 34 points, seven rebounds and three assists, but unfortunately for Boston fans, it wasn’t enough to extend their season one more game.

“Just hanging around the right people” – Steve Kerr is ecstatic with his team, wins 9th Title as a coach and player combined

Steve Kerr is in just his eighth season as an NBA head coach, all with the Warriors. He already is among the all-time greats, “Top 5 coaches of All Time”, as Stephen A Smith stated after the NBA Finals. The Warriors head coach enjoyed his own 15-year playing career where he won five championships, while clinching his 4th Title as a coach. When Steve Kerr came to the Warriors, it was because the team needed a head coach who would reset the culture in Oakland.
Five straight NBA Finals and a move across the Bay later, it’s obvious that Kerr was able to do that. The Warriors’ offensive and defensive systems are the envy of the league and the team’s environment of positivity and accountability is legendary. But the Warriors needed something more than a big-picture coach this season, particularly in the NBA Finals. They needed a tactical master. Someone who could adapt to any situation and deploy his players in the perfect way. And that’s what Kerr proved himself to be this season.
Golden State don’t give up, they conquer, which is what they did as they invaded Boston’s home court and reclaimed their throne at the the summit of NBA. We’ve witnessed the Warriors execute smooth rotations and accurate shooting against their opponents and that’s the point which gives them the edge. Their bread-and-butter stuff worked particularly well against the Celtics. The Warriors missed the playoffs in the last two seasons. They weren’t favored to win the title this year, but now find themselves atop the NBA, with their dynasty intact, and their coach masterminding their rise to the top.

The Golden State Warriors’ roster includes a lot of guys who are still young in the league, and haven’t proven themselves. But players like Jordan Poole and Kevon Looney fit well within the system, as displayed in the playoffs this year. The horrific end to the 2019 NBA Finals, which saw Klay suffering a torn ACL, coupled with 2 of their worst seasons in recent history, some people were assuming the dynasty had died, well, seems like it won’t so soon.
After having gone through so much, Golden State have reinstated their position back among the elite, with Stephen Curry as their ‘Achilles’. “My main thought is just how lucky I was to have landed with the Warriors in my first coaching job,” Kerr summed up, seems like he was right wasn’t he.
