“Stole everything then said I need Jesus” STRANGE robbery from Michael Porter Jr’s hotel room leaves fans in splits

Denver Nuggets player Michael Porter Jr. had a number of expensive items stolen from his hotel room in Indianapolis. Reportedly Porter Jr. was not inside his room when the unfortunate incident occurred. The items stolen included a gold bracelet that was worth $2,000 and 2 Louis Vuitton bags that were worth $2,250 each. According to the police reports cash worth $8000 was also stolen from Porter Jr. and also a Bible.
Denver Nuggets were in town for the game against Indiana Pacers which they later won by 2 points. In the Nuggets win, Porter Jr. scored 17 points, six rebounds, and two assists and one block in 36 minutes on the floor. The police report was submitted on Tuesday, the day before the Nuggets’ Wednesday night away game against the Indiana Pacers.
Last year Porter Jr. was sidelined for almost all of the full season after going through his third back surgery. Porter Jr is averaging 17.6 points per game for the Denver Nuggets at a 48.9 field goal percentage. Porter is also shooting 48.6% from the 3-point line which is among the highest shooting percentage this season. So far into this season, Porter Jr. has played 10 of 11 games.

Apparently, the robber who stole the bags, bracelet, and cash from the hotel room also stole Bible that Michael Porter Jr was carrying with him. According to the reports, that Bible was worth $15. Stealing Bible amongst the other expensive items is itself a confusing act to commit. Fans on Twitter were left in splits regarding the theft in the hotel room. One of the fans wrote a witty remark, “Stole everything then said I need Jesus.” Another noticing the irony of the thief’s action quoted the Bible and wrote, “Thou shalt not steal.” Find some more reactions here below:
Porter Jr. and Nuggets are in 4th position in the Western Conference with an 8-3 record. The team has gotten exponentially better after Jamal Murray came back strong from a career-ending injury this season. Denver has also won the last of its four games and are expected to go deep into the playoffs this season.
