The fourth season of Netflix’s Web Series, Stranger Things, hit screens across the world recently, as the show paid tribute to LA Lakers legend Kobe Bryant via star actor Caleb McLaughlin, who donned the #8 on his jersey.
Bryant is considered to be one of the greatest LA Lakers in franchise history. He brought his Mamba Mentality every time he stepped on the court, and that is what made him special.Kobe Bryant is undoubtedly one of the most inspiring figures in basketball history. Whether it’s his style of play or his impact on people because of his performances, Bryant has touched the lives of several people.

Caleb McLaughlin is a huge fan of Kobe Bryant
Stranger Things is one of the most renowned Netflix originals in the world, with its popularity exceeding all boundaries. As Season 4 of the enthralling show dropped on May 26 in some parts of the world, people have noticed the beautiful tribute that the show have given to ‘Black Mamba’. Caleb McLaughlin, who plays the role of Lucas Sinclair in the show, chose to wear the No. 8 on his basketball jersey in honor of Bryant, a heartwarming show of respect for the legend.
Sinclair, portrayed by actor Caleb McLaughlin, is seen wearing the Hawkins High School basketball jersey at several different points in the season as he attempts to change his image from a nerd to a stud. Netflix revealed that it was actually his own idea to pay homage to Bryant, of whom McLaughlin was a huge fan. McLaughlin shared a side-by-side photo of him in the Hawkins High basketball uniform and the Black Mamba in the iconic Lakers No. 8 jersey on his Instagram, alongside a heart emoji.
Netflix released the first seven episodes of the first volume of Season 4 on May 27, with a two-part finale set to be released in July. The fourth season comes following a 3-year break, during which fans impatiently awaited the return of the emphatic show. The series has continued to grow in terms of its overall fan base since the first volume of the fourth season swept the world. Fans around thw world have loved the effort the actor and the series have put in to remember one of the greatest to grace the game.
Kobe Bryant’s tragic helicopter crash in January 2020, still haunts the entirety of the NBA community, as we were left numb with the news of him passing away.
