Team Nigeria reveals harsh words of Liz Cambage
Almost a year since the incident had taken place and players of Team Nigeria have spoken about what was said to them by Liz Cambage. Unfortunately, as part of the investigation, the identities of the players were strictly asked to be hidden. However, they said that they were being called “Monkeys” and heard Cambage uttering the words, “go back to your third world country.”
“That’s what I recall, the term monkeys, yes. She definitely did use monkeys or monkey,” said one of the players. One of the Opals said, “There had been so many behavioral issues that had gone on previously that we could write a book, but that incident happened to be the final straw.” Cambage’s father also was saddened by his daughter’s remarks as he is also Nigerian.
