Thanasis Antetokounmpo typically only gets to play when the Milwaukee Bucks game is practically set. He typically gets the opportunity to play when the Bucks are either so far ahead that they can clear the bench or have no chance of winning. Key players’ injuries will also provide him additional playing time. Whereas his brother, Giannis Antetokounmpo is leading the Eastern Conference in the NBA’s announced starting lines for the 2024 NBA All-Star Game.

Despite his lackluster effort, Thanasis Antetokounmpo astonishingly received three player votes to start as an All-Star. Giannis and Damian Lillard, who are among the East starting for the Bucks, were among the All-Star starters revealed on Thursday. The release of the complete vote results accompanied the announcement.

Three players were identified who, for whatever reason, chose to select Thanasis Antetokounmpo for their All-Star team. Old NBA Tweets posted a post where they had a caption calling the Antetokounmpo brothers not so slick. The caption said,

As pointed out before, leaving Giannis out of this, Thanasis, and Greek Basket League player Kostas have yet to accomplish anything. Even though he played for the Mavericks and Lakers, Kostas was largely ineffective. Thanasis has participated in 18 of the Bucks’ 44 games this season. The majority of basketball fans believe he is only a member of Milwaukee’s team since his brother is Giannis Antetokounmpo, the team’s star player.

Several other players received three player votes, including RJ Barrett, Al Horford, Cameron Johnson, Onyeka Okungwu, Marvin Bagley III, and Wendell Carter Jr. The starting center for the Bucks, Brook Lopez, who is a teammate of Thanasis Antetokounmpo, only received two votes. Another important player for Milwaukee, Bobby Portis, had one fewer than Antetokounmpo did. Thanasis received more votes than even the OG, Anunoby.
