Sports Analyst Stephen A Smith is unsatisfied with the latest ESPN NBA rankings. Stephen A Smith said, “There’s no way in hell I don’t have LeBron James and Kevin Durant out of my top 5. He also mentioned, “Now there’s only one excuse; I will say this, If you’re telling me that quantity for the 2022 season played a profound role, that is the only argument that you can make, cause obviously missed games matter.”

He added, “I’m not thinking about quantity. OK? I’m thinking about quality. Quality matters. You can last a long time, but [if] you ain’t getting it done, you ain’t getting it done.” He further added, “The bottom line is this. Ain’t no way in hell five players in the world are better than LeBron James and Kevin Durant. That is impossible.”

ESPN ranked the LA Lakers star player LeBron James 3rd last season, and he fell to 6th year. LeBron’s All-Star counterpart and the Brooklyn Nets star player Kevin Durant was at the top of the list last year. This year Durant dropped eight spots to 9th. This point was put forth by Stephen A Smith in his interview, where he questioned how someone of Kevin’s and LeBron’s caliber could not be in the top 5.

The superstars in question will have a lot to prove in the upcoming 2022-23 NBA season. Their respective teams also have a re-vamped roster to support their search for another title win. ESPN’s rankings have lit the NBA season, and it will be interesting to see who comes out better.
