Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics are down 3-2 against the Joel Embiid-led Philadelphia 76ers in the Eastern Conference Semifinals. And, now the Sixers are just one win away from advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals. But the road isn’t going to be easy for them. As Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown-led Celtics aren’t giving up anytime soon and will try to force a Game 7 and repeat their trip to the NBA Finals once again.

Even though the Boston Celtics are down 2-3, they still have a solid chance to advance by winning the series. As it’s not the first time when they are trailing 3-2. And, history suggests they have a better chance at winning the series. As a viral stat reports: Boston has won six best-of-7-series when trailing 3-2. It is the most wins in this situation in NBA history. Also, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are both balling out and leading the roster well.

The history suggests Jayson Tatum and Boston Celtics will force Game 7 against the Philadelphia 76ers. But they’ll have to make some adjustments and improvements for it to happen. They are yet to get a concrete line-up for the final minutes when the game is close. Marcus Smart hasn’t always been the right guy to be in the line-up but lately, he’s been balling out and silencing his haters.

The Celtics are good on the offensive end as they have Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and even Derrick White to run the offense through. But they need to adjust their defensive approach as they are facing the league’s best pick-and-roll system of Joel Embiid and James Harden. So they have to start guarding the duo smartly with genuine reads about the screens and the play the Sixers can make. As the Sixers also have Tyrese Maxey to rely upon when things aren’t going well.

So leaving anyone open isn’t forcing a Game 7. And, if they don’t fix their defensive approach, they may have to pack their bags for summer early this time. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown can do all the damage on the offensive end but now it’s time for their big guys like Al Horford and Robert Williams to step up and stop Joel Embiid. Game 6 is scheduled for Thursday, May 11 at 7:30 p.m. ET at Wells Fargo Center.
