In keeping with the soccer theme, LeBron James has a stake in Liverpool FC. One of the wealthiest players, the Los Angeles Lakers forward saw his investment in the league pay dividends. Currently, James is the only NBA player to have amassed $1 billion. LeBron James bought a 2% stake in Liverpool in 2011. James, then a Miami Heat player, reportedly invested $6.5 million.
The four-time MVP changed his ownership position at Liverpool to about 1% of the Fenway Sports Group in 2021. Two years ago, the football club was estimated to be worth $4.1 billion, which meant that James’ investment was worth about $82 million.
