Ticket prices for Grizzlies’ game against Hornets shockingly stoop low at just $2
The wounded Grizzlies face yet another challenge: outside injuries and performance.
The Memphis Grizzlies are facing the toughest luck of the season. The majority of the Grizzlies are injured and out for more than three weeks.
Some may not even suit up before the end of the season. Memphis is not far away from being eliminated from playoff contention, sitting 13th in the West. Because of this, Grizzlies fans have taken the games pretty lightly.
With most star players out with injuries, no fan wants to attend the Grizzlies game. Memphis is scheduled to host the Hornets on Wednesday, though, given the fans’ interest, the home game tickets are available for as low as $2. That’s not all, surprisingly enough, some of the great seats in the arena are being sold for just $33.
With that being said, it is pretty disheartening, especially for the team members and staff. With the majority of the players out for the Hornets game, the Grizzlies had no option but to decrease the ticket prices down to single digits to attract fans.
Now that the ticket prices are as low as $2, it will be interesting to see whether the stands will be filled with Grizzlies fans or just a quiet home crowd.
Are the Grizzlies in the middle of a downfall?
The Memphis Grizzlies have a solid young core and extremely talented players. Ja Morant, Jaren Jackson Jr., and Desmond Bane have led the team in the past.
The Grizzlies faced the Warriors in the second round of the 2022 postseason. Whereas last year, Memphis went up against the Lakers in the first round. Though couldn’t make a deeper run in both postseason appearances.
The Grizzlies are in the middle of a rebuild, which almost seems to be complete. There are brighter days ahead for Memphis, but dealing with injuries and a lack of fans in the stands is something they cannot get hold of. The front office, on the other hand, has also done a great job rebuilding this team.
Following this season’s performance, the Grizzlies are projected to land a top-10 pick in the 2024 draft. Memphis has had its luck in the past, signing the number 2 overall pick in 2019 and the number 4 overall pick in 2018.
This year, they have a great chance at signing a star rookie, strengthening its roster even further. Being comprised of mostly guys under the age of 25, the Grizzlies have a lot of growth in the long run.
