“The only place where you can be GREAT” Timberwolves veteran Patrick Beverley savagely flexes DPOY claim over a bunch of school kids
Patrick Beverley
Patrick Beverley of the Minnesota Timberwolves is widely regarded as one of the best defenders in the game today so much that Pat Bev was to be considered for the Defensive Player of the Year award this year. Regardless, Beverley was once again ignored over for the NBA’s DPOY award this season. The Timberwolves’ guard was not pleased, and he is now on a quest to establish his claim to the position. Pat Bev recently decided to put his outstanding defensive skills on display – on a group of school kids!! Unfortunately, they were all a bunch of high school students who were only doing their utmost against a veteran NBA player.
Beverley’s season with the Minnesota Timberwolves
Minnesota saw an opportunity to mix Patrick Beverley‘s defense, playmaking, shooting, and mindset with a young club in desperate need of all of the above when he was acquired in the summer. While it was evident after the 2021 playoffs that they were acquiring a top player, Beverley has exceeded everyone’s expectations in Minnesota. His teammates have regularly credited him with the shift in Minnesota’s culture, but Beverley’s influence extends beyond culture and attitude. No one felt the Timberwolves had an opportunity in the first round of the playoffs against the number one seed Memphis Grizzlies. The Timberwolves, on the other hand, put the Grizzlies on notice by taking the series to six games before losing.

He is a recipient of various defensive accolades in the previous decade which are: NBA All-Defensive First Team (2017),2× NBA All-Defensive Second Team (2014, 2020) and NBA Hustle Award (2017). He came on top 10 of the Defensive Player of the Year voting multiple times in his 9-year NBA career.
