Former NBA player Mario Chalmers criticized LeBron James for not intimidating opponents, sparking controversy in the basketball world. However, Tristan Thompson, a former teammate of LeBron, has spoken up in support of him.

On the Draymond Green Show, Tristan Thompson, a former player for the Cleveland Cavaliers who shared the 2016 title with LeBron James, made some remarks regarding Mario Chalmers. Thompson criticized Chalmers for his comments and reminded him that LeBron is the “best player you’ve ever been on the court with.”

“That shit pissed me off, man,” Thompson told Green. “How can you say that about a guy you went to war with, who believed in you; and you’re going to come and say ‘No one fears LeBron?’ This is the best player you’ve ever been on the court with.”

Thompson continued by saying, “Guys be on some sucker shit. I don’t like that kind of stuff.” He sounded grateful for LeBron’s leadership and the opportunity to win a championship with him.

Mario Chalmers has been openly critical of his former teammate LeBron James, despite winning back-to-back championships with him on the Miami Heat in 2012 and 2013. James’ greatness seems to have been taken for granted by Chalmers, who isn’t afraid to voice his ideas on him.

Nobody fears Bron,” Chalmers recently made an appearance on the Playmaker HQ podcast where he said. “Nobody’s like, ‘Damn, I gotta go play against Bron tonight.’ Nobody said that. I don’t know why, because I’ve seen people be scared when they actually line up to him, but they’re not scared thinking about that matchup.”

Chalmers went on to compare LeBron to Michael Jordan, saying, “You hear anybody from that era talk about going against Jordan, there’s a fear. So when you have people that fear a player, then that tells you something different already. Like Jordan is just that guy. Like everything was, ‘I want to be like Mike.”

Chalmers’ comments have stirred up debate among basketball fans and players alike. While some agree with him, others, like Thompson, are quick to defend LeBron and his dominance on the court.

LeBron James’ career achievements are indisputable, with four NBA titles, four NBA MVP awards, and numerous other honors. Regardless of differing opinions, he has secured his position as one of the greatest basketball players in history. He is currently out of action due to an injury and will most likely miss the remainder of the season.
