“BEAT LEBRON” Twitter amazed as Cavaliers extend win streak to 7 without Donovan Mitchell
The Cleveland Cavaliers are on a high after registering their seventh out of eight games they played this season. They were left without the services of their star player Donovan Mitchell yet managed to pull off a dominating performance. The Cavs managed to build a strong roster this year following which the team against the Detroit Pistons did not miss Donovan.
Kevin Love was the game star as he scored 21 points, ten assists and eight rebounds. He got excellent support from Jarrett Allen who added 22 points to his tally and Cedi Osman added 15 as the Cavaliers had a 54-21 edge in bench scoring. The Cavs’ star guard Darius Garland also missed out on the game citing a knee injury and Donovan was out due to an ankle injury which both suffered in an overtime win over the Boston Celtics. Without Garland and Mitchell, the Cavaliers took their offense from the inside, as they outnumbered the Pistons 34-10 in the paint in the first half of the game.
Both teams averaged under 30 percent on 3-pointers at halftime but Cleveland’s efficiency to get through to the basket got them a lead by almost 21 points as they reached 57-39 at the end of the second quarter. They also continued their power-packed performance in the second half and won the game 112-88. The Cavs’ fans took to Twitter to celebrate their team’s scintillating performance. The reaction tweets regarding the same can be seen below:
Cleveland Cavaliers will look to continue their winning streak as they face a patchy Los Angeles Lakers
The Cleveland Cavaliers will be up against the Los Angeles Lakers, who are in a patchy form. The Cavs will look to continue its three-game road winning streak as well. Last season, the LA Lakers finished 33-49 overall with a 21-20 record at home during the 2021-22 season. They averaged 112.1 points per game while shooting 46.9% from the field and 34.7% from 3-point range.
On the other hand, Cleveland finished 27-25 in Eastern Conference and 19-22 on the road a season ago. They averaged 107.8 points per game, 16.8 from the free throw line, and 34.8 from deep. The Lakers are a strong line-up, even if they look ousted. The Cavs will need to put their best foot forward against them. It will be an intense battle, and it will be interesting to see who comes out atop.
