The Boston Celtics put on an impressive performance on Sunday, dominating the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 7 to advance to the conference finals. Led by a historic 51-point performance from Jayson Tatum, the Celtics outplayed the Sixers in every aspect of the game, securing a 112-88 victory.

The Sixers, who were hoping to build on their strong regular-season performance, looked completely out of sorts throughout the game. Joel Embiid, fresh off his first NBA MVP award, was largely ineffective, scoring just 15 points and grabbing eight rebounds in 38 minutes of play. James Harden also struggled, scoring just nine points in 41 minutes of play.

Led by their young star, Jayson Tatum, the Celtics looked like a well-coordinated team and put on a remarkable shooting performance. Tatum made 17 out of his 28 field goal attempts, including 6 of 10 three-pointers, and contributed 13 rebounds and 5 assists to his historic point total.

The game was never truly in doubt for the Celtics, who held a 30-point advantage at one point. The fast pace and aggressive defense of the Celtics were simply too much for the Sixers to handle. For the Sixers, it was a dismal finish to what had been a promising season.

As expected, NBA fans took to Twitter to troll Joel Embiid for his disappointing performance in the playoffs. Embiid, who was named the NBA’s Most Valuable Player for the first time in his career, had a rough series against the Celtics, averaging just 23.7 points per game, a significant drop from his regular season average of 33.1 points per game.

Many on Twitter were quick to point out the historic nature of Embiid’s drop-off, with some calling it the largest by an MVP in NBA history. Others were more direct in their criticism, with one user calling Embiid the “most fraudulent MVP since Steve Nash.”

Sharing a wide spectrum of reactions online, here’s what fans have to say:

The criticism was not limited to Embiid’s playoff performance, however. Many on Twitter also took issue with the fact that Embiid won the MVP award over Nikola Jokic, who had a historic season for the Denver Nuggets.
