Cleveland Cavaliers registered a comprehensive win over the Detroit Pistons. All credit goes to their star veteran Kevin Love. This was the seventh win for the Cavaliers, and they are on a roll, making a statement in the NBA world that they are coming for the championship title.
The Cleveland was playing without their latest recruited star Donovan Mitchell. But it looks like they didn’t miss him that much. They thumped the Pistons 112-88 for their seventh win of the season. ‘Vintage’ Kevin Love scored 21 points, ten assists, and eight rebounds, while Jarrett Allen scored 22 points, and Cedi Osman added 15 as the Cavaliers scored a 54-21 edge in bench scoring and a 58-24 edge in points in the paint. Guard player Darius Garland also missed out with Mitchell, as both were injured in an overtime win over the Boston Celtics.
Evan Mobley added 11 points, eight rebounds, and a career-high eight blocks. Cade Cunningham had 19 points for Detroit but scored only three in the second half. Bojan Bogdanovic came into the game leading the Pistons in scoring at 21.8 points and scored six on 2-for-9 shooting as the Pistons have now lost three straight and eight of nine. Twitter fans were mesmerized seeing Kevin Love play such efficiently, as they react to his gameplay. Find some of those reactions here below:
Kevin Love turns back the clock with his fiery game-play
The 34-year-old NBA star Kevin Love gave flashback of his youthful days when he delivered a power-packed performance for the Cleveland Cavaliers as they routed the Detroit Pistons. Kevin entered the NBA back in 2008 with the Minnesota Timberwolves. He was the fifth overall pick in the 2008 draft out of UCLA.
It was a two-year, $6.56 million contract. Kevin averaged 11.1 points and 9.1 rebounds during his rookie season. In his second year, Kevin Love averaged 14.0 points and 11.0 boards. He established himself as one of the best rebounders in the game. He took that throne in his third season by leading the NBA in rebounds per game.
Love also made his first All-Star team that season and was setting himself up for a nice rookie-scale extension. In January 2012, the Timberwolves signed Kevin Love to a four-year, $60.8 million rookie-scale extension. However, he only appeared in 18 games due to injury. After that, a series of injuries followed him and he was in and out of the game, but he was still regarded as one of the best in the business. And, now he is leading the young Cavs’ team to new heights. In the game against the Pistons, he even gave up his triple-double so the young guys can get some minutes.
