Game one between the Golden State Warriors and the Sacramento Kings was an absolute thriller. The defending champions led by Stephen Curry, are playing away from home for the first two games. The Kings certainly want to make the most out of their home-court advantage as they beat the Warriors in a tight nail-biter. The matchup stood neck to neck with each other and neither let the other run away with the game. However, the Warriors fell just short with the score 123-126 at the end of regulation.

There were moments in the game when the Kings had a commanding lead. Although they took the victory, it wasn’t until the last second that they dropped their shoulders and celebrated their victory. Curry has bagged 30 points in the game shooting six three-pointers. The short assassin is probably the most reliable shooter on the Warriors’ roster. However, with three needed to tie the game, Curry failed to carry the game to overtime, as he missed a clutch wide-open three.

Historically, Stephen Curry doesn’t have the best track record when it comes to clutch shots. Even though he’s one of the most respected shooters in the NBA, Curry, according to many fan critics, hasn’t managed to make too many ‘needed’ shots. While game 1 posed an amazing opportunity for him to silence everyone, unfortunately, it didn’t happen for the star.

The defending champions will walk out of this game with the knowledge of what needs to change. They haven’t been the best defensive team on the road and the explosive Kings offense will look to exploit that in game 2 as well. While Curry and company thrive most when people turn sides on them, they will look to tie the series 1-1 in the next game in Sacramento.

What are NBA followers saying on Twitter after the Warriors’ loss?

NBA Twitter has been merciless about Steph Curry’s missed clutch shot. Many have been mocking his shooting ability questioning people’s belief that he is the best three-point shooter in the game. While some are just simply disappointed, others have displayed no surprise that Curry missed the one shot that was most important for the Warriors today.

Many have also questioned the Warriors’ strategy to give Curry the ball. Given that the shooter has struggled with clutch shots, many argue that his Splash Brother – Klay Thompson – would’ve been a better choice. Thompson accompanies Curry in his three-point shooting dominance and holds a better record for clutch shots. Despite what many might say, it was clear that Golden State needed its best shooter at the nib of the game. The Warriors are known to bounce back hard and strong after setbacks and fans can expect nothing less from them in Game 2.
