“They get into their feelings…” Udonis Haslem reminds haters Russell Westbrook’s greatness amidst constant criticism

Russell Westbrook, the triple-double machine has had his share of dominance in the history of the league. However, due to his performance in recent seasons, Westbrook’s credibility has dropped significantly. The former MVP has been criticized to a great extent, with the majority of it coming from the time he spent in Los Angeles. Westbrook’s 11 seasons in Oklahoma were some of the best ones of his career.

After playing alongside stars like Kevin Durant, Paul George, and Carmelo Anthony, Westbrook and the Thunder couldn’t manage to win a title. Following his time in OKC, Westbrook played for the Rockets and the Wizards. These two short seasons were the calm before the storm. In 2021, Westbrook signed with the Lakers, where all the criticism would originate from. To his defense, Udonis Haslem reminded fans of Russ’ dominance recently.

People talk, and they get into their feelings, and they say what they want to say about Russ. At one point, this man was the best in the world. Like you say what you wanna say, all hell is coming when you had to play against Russ.

Westbrook’s athleticism, and his ability to make the defense fear him on the defensive end, made him the dominant player that he was known for. Westbrook’s MVP season says a lot about his potential. He averaged a triple-double, being the greatest individual player of the season. When it came down to playing with the team, fans questioned Russ’ ability to lead the team to a championship.

Russell Westbrook is trapped under constant criticism

While in Oklahoma Westbrook’s reliability as a responsible teammate was heavily questioned. On the other hand, in LA, Russ’ performance just wasn’t up to mark. Playing alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis, Russ’ contribution was significantly less and not up to anyone’s expectations.

At 35, Westbrook is giving all he can, as the Clippers have established themselves as true title contenders this season. Westbrook’s dominance has been overlooked rather quickly, though one cannot expect him to put up triple-doubles like he used to daily or register posters each night.

Russ’ game was once termed similar to none other than the great Michael Jordan. This wasn’t just a famous rumor, it was said by the Black Cat himself. Westbrook and the Clippers are on a roll and as per their performance, the team will look to make a memorable playoff run this season.
