LeBron James is arguably one of the greatest players of all time, if not the greatest. He is one of the most complete players ever to grace the league. While he may not be the same player he was during his days in Miami, he still dominates the game with his basketball IQ, court vision, and an impressive arsenal of moves to score from anywhere on the court.

Due to his playful behavior on and off the court, some players underestimate his level of play. One of those players was the two-time league leader in blocks, Myles Turner of the Indiana Pacers. Myles thought that playing against LeBron wouldn’t be as challenging as facing Kobe Bryant. However, he learned a valuable lesson when he first played against the NBA’s All-Time leading scorer.

In a recent appearance on the ‘Run Your Race‘ podcast, Myles Turner talked about how he realized why LeBron is called King James. He always believed it wouldn’t be as tough to play against him, but when he faced LeBron for the first time, Turner realized that LeBron was one of the smartest players in the game, as he could anticipate what would happen before it actually did.

“I wasn’t a LeBron hater, but I used to think, ‘He’s Bron, he’s cool, but he’s not Kobe…’ until I actually played against him. He’s one of the smartest players I’ve ever played against, bro… He sees things before they happen.”

LeBron James has been at the top of his game for over 2 decades now. Outside of his rookie year, he has been an All-Star and a member of the All-NBA team every single year. Coming into year 21, he has spent so much time in the league that he can sense what play the other team is going to execute and can adjust accordingly, making him one of the smartest players in the league.

Joel Embiid tends to agree with the sentiment that a lot of players share about LeBron being the smartest player ever. In an interview with Fox Sports, Embiid talked about how LeBron is the best player in the league since he was drafted back in the loaded class of 2003.

Embiid said that LeBron is incredibly smart and one of the smartest players ever: “The best player in the NBA since he has been in the league for 20 years shows you that—and that’s someone who’s extremely smart, who knows basketball, one of the smartest players ever.”
