LeBron James

LeBron James has drawn tremendous praise from NBA experts following his historical performance in the Los Angeles Lakers‘ game 4 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies. James scored 22 points and grabbed a playoff career-high 20 rebounds in a 117-11 win for the Lakers. James also scored the bucket to send the game to overtime and the game-winning bucket in overtime.

NBA analysts on Get Up ESPN commented on LeBron’s performance: ” The final chapters of LeBron’s story have not been written and this could be an incredible one in the making.” LeBron James is pursuing his fifth NBA championship and second with the Los Angeles Lakers. In his 20th season, the kid from Akron has averaged MVP numbers while carrying a wounded Lakers team to the playoffs.

And if it is, he looks, unlike any LeBron we’ve ever seen.” The ESPN analyst likened LeBron’s run to that of the ‘Last Dance’ documentary, which showcased Michael Jordan’s career and detailed footage of his quest for the Chicago Bulls sixth NBA Championship.

After a nail-biting victory in game 4, the Lakers have taken a 3-1 lead and are all but sure to advance to the next round of the playoffs. Their opponents could be the Sacramento Kings or the Golden State Warriors, who are currently all square at 2-2. The Kings might be without De’Aaron Fox for game 5, which tips the scales in favor of Golden State and a LeBron James and Steph Curry playoff matchup for the first time since 2018.

The Lakers have experienced beating the Warriors as recently as 2021 when they snatched the 7th seed from them by beating them in the play-in tournament. James came up clutch that night, hitting the game-sealing three with under a minute to play. If the Lakers make it past the Warriors, the odds favor them facing the Phoenix Suns in the Conference Finals.

The Suns enjoy a 3-1 lead over the Los Angeles Clippers with Kevin Durant and Devin Booker leading the way. The Suns could face the Denver Nuggets, who are 3-1 up against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Nuggets and the Suns met in the 2021 playoffs, where Denver got swept by Devin Booker and co as the Suns made their way to the NBA Finals.

LeBron James and the Lakers have beat the Denver Nuggets in the 2020 Western Conference Finals, so in case of any upset, they should be ready for 2x MVP Nikola Jokic. The last team to beat James in a playoff series was the Phoenix Suns and, James will have his eyes set on revenge if the two cross paths in the Western Conference Finals.
