Pop sensation Taylor Swift recently kicked off the LA leg of her Eras Tour. She performed for a sold-out crowd of over 100,000 fans at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood. Among those in attendance were Vanessa Bryant, wife of the late Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant, and her three daughters – Bianca, Natalia and Capri Bryant.

It proved to be quite an emotional experience for the Bryant family as Vanessa paid tribute to ‘The Black Mamba’ and her daughter Gianna ‘Gigi’ Bryant, both of whom tragically passed away in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California in 2020. She wore a denim jacket which was emblazoned with a picture of her late husband and Swift herself, together on stage at The 1989 World Tour that took place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles in August, 2015. The jacket also had the word ‘Swiftie’ and the song lyrics ‘Say you’ll remember me’ inscribed on it, picked from one of Swift’s hit songs “Wildest Dreams”.

Vanessa also wore friendship bracelets, two of them having Kobe’s and Gigi’s names on them. The most special moment of the night, however, occurred when Swift gifted the hat she wore in her famous song “22” to Bryant’s 6-year-old daughter Bianca post which the two of them shared an emotional embrace. Vanessa was in awe of Swift’s touching gesture and shared multiple stories of the concert on her Instagram stories.

Vanessa also shared a throwback video of her daughters Gigi and Natalia grooving to Swift’s track “You Belong With Me”. The concert was truly a memorable and magical experience for Bryant and her daughters who will remember those emotional moments for a long long time. Swift on the other hand has been in the news quite a lot lately and for all the right reasons. Such has been the craze that her Eras Tour could possibly be responsible for generating $4.6 billion in total consumer spending in the U.S. Her concert in Seattle last week reportedly generated a record-breaking seismic activity equivalent to a 2.3 magnitude earthquake.

Kobe and Vanessa first met each other in November 1999. The two fell in love, got engaged 6 months later and eventually married each other in 2001. They became proud parents to four beautiful daughters during the course of their marriage.

Their marriage was by no means a bed of roses, as the couple went through multiple hurdles in their relationship. Bryant was accused of sexual misconduct back in 2003, which really affected their relationship. So much so, that Bryant even blamed himself for his wife’s miscarriage. They announced their decision to separate in 2011 but then in 2013, decided to reconcile and give their relationship another chance.

Bryant stated that being able to overcome obstacles and embracing the highs and lows are key to having a long-lasting marriage. “That’s all the beauty of it. Having the persistence and determination to work through things, very, very tough things and we’ve been able to do that”, said Bryant.
