Vanessa Bryant has filed a lawsuit against the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department. As a deputy and firefighter who reached at the helicopter crash scene clicked and shared photos of Kobe Bryant’s remains. Black Mamba was on his way to a girls’ basketball tournament with his daughter and the rest of the team. But unfortunately, due to some errors a crash was caused and we lost Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna and seven others too. That was the worst day of life for Vanessa Bryant as she lost her loving husband and young daughter in the crash. And, then she had to fight the department itself for the photo leaks from the crash site. The people who have done the dirty job of clicking and sharing those for a laugh senselessly around are just some shameless guys who aren’t able to understand the seriousness of the tragic event.
Those images were reportedly shared around to 28 or more devices belonging to the Sheriff’s department, at least 12 firefighters and have been even shown to people at bars and at an awards Gala. This really had Vanessa Bryant disheartened and disappointed as this is just straight disrespect towards the Great Kobe Bryant. Vanessa Bryant was left in tears when she heard about the photos being allegedly shown to others who have no business with it but just for a laugh. In her testimony, she has also mentioned that she felt “blindsided, devastated, hurt and betrayed” by the photo leak.
Vanessa Bryant was often crying and wasn’t able to hold herself or her tears back during the presentation by her lawyers. Her lawyer Luis Li talking about her situation during the whole mess quoted: “Jan. 26, 2020, was the worst day of Vanessa Bryant’s life. The county made it much worse. They poured salt in an open wound and rubbed it in.” Lady Mamba had to go through a lot during the trials but finally, justice has been served and a price was paid by the ones who did the wrong deed.
Los Angeles County to pay $16 Million to Vanessa Bryant over photos of Kobe Bryant’s body
Vanessa Bryant has been awarded with $16 million and the county will have to pay it to her. As they have caused some serious emotional distress to the Bryant family and especially her. Even Co-plaintiff Chris Chester who lost his daughter and wife in the crash will receive $15 million. The initial demand by his lawyers for their loss was $75 million. But again that’s not what matters for Vanessa Bryant as her lawyer didn’t even give out a figure in the courtroom. As for her, the fight is not about the money but the photo leaks of Kobe Bryant’s and her daughter’s remains. As she earlier has mentioned: “I don’t ever want to see these photographs. I want to remember my husband and my daughter the way they were.”
