“Stop that sh*t” Vernon Maxwell reacts to Ja Morant saying ‘he’d cook’ Michael Jordan
Vernon Maxwell, Michael Jordan and JA Morant
Vernon Maxwell has made it to the NBA headlines after quite a while and the reason is pretty solid. As sitting alongside Josiah Johnson and Gilbert Arenas on “No Chill with Gilbert Arenas” show, he called out JA Morant for one of his recent takes on Michael Jordan. The disrespect these days is getting real as fans and even players are just forgetting how good the old guys really were. Especially Michael Jordan as there are reasons he was called Black Jesus and Black Cat by other greats of the game back in the days and he’s also regarded as G.O.A.T by many. So Vernon Maxwell made sure all these young guys know what they are trying to mess with especially JA Morant and Draymond Green.
JA Morant in a recent interview of his with Bleacher Report claimed to beat Michael Jordan as he was confident. In the interview, he quoted: “I wish I played in his generation. I heard he was, like how high he go about the game, just that mindset. I would have liked to play against him… I would have cooked him. I would have cooked him, too. Nobody got more confidence than 12. I’ll say nobody gon’ beat me one-on-one or anything. I don’t care what it is, what sports it is, soccer. Who’s the best player in soccer? Come on, we can play.” It’s fair to say he’s just confident and said it all out. But it was necessary for someone to calm him down and Vernon Maxwell did the job.
Vernon Maxwell on JA Morant’s claim of beating Michael Jordan
Vernon Maxwell sitting alongside Gilbert Arenas and Josiah Johnson discussed ball and the league back in the days, especially with MJ leading the Chicago Bulls. As they were out there manhandling all these teams to go on winning several championships. He explained how he had sleepless nights before the game and how important the schedule was. So paying the right respect to MJ Vernon Maxwell went on to humble down JA Morant.
As Vernon Maxwell quoted: “Mike is the best man. I mean, all these kids talking a lot of sh*t. Ja–you know I love you and your dad–but stop that sh*t man.” We can trust the two-time NBA champion with his words as he really has seen it all while playing in three different decades 1988-2001 (13 seasons) and having MJ around for all that time. A one-on-one of JA Morant against MJ would really be interesting and worth watching but unfortunately, such match-ups aren’t possible and we’ll have to live without those.
