Victor Wembanyama is the most coveted prospect in the 2023 NBA Draft and the San Antonio Spurs are lucky enough to have the No. 1 pick to select him. The 7-foot-3 French phenom has been drawing comparisons to Tim Duncan, the Spurs’ greatest player ever, for his combination of size, skill, and versatility.
Spurs fans are ecstatic about Wembanyama joining their team and have been showing him some love on social media. One fan, Mark Burnett, took it to another level by getting Wembanyama’s face and number shaved into his hair.
Burnett, who has been a Spurs fan since the days of David Robinson, said he wanted to pay tribute to Wembanyama as a once-in-a-lifetime talent who could restore the Spurs’ glory. Wembanyama saw Burnett’s hair art on Instagram and was amazed by it. He commented: “Spurs Deada** got the best fanbase in the league” with a heart emoji.
Wembanyama has been dominating the LNB Pro A, the top league in France, where he won a championship with ASVEL in 2021 and was named MVP and scoring champion with Metropolitans 92 in 2022. He also led France to two silver medals at the FIBA Under-19 World Cup and the FIBA U16 European Championship, setting a record for blocks per game in the former.

Wembanyama will get his first taste of NBA action in the Summer League with the Spurs before joining them for training camp and preseason. He is expected to make an immediate impact on the team and help them end their playoff drought that has lasted for three seasons.
The French professional has also said he is excited to learn from Spurs coach Gregg Popovich, who is one of the best coaches of all time and has developed many stars such as Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, Kawhi Leonard, and LaMarcus Aldridge.
Wembanyama has a bright future ahead of him and Spurs fans are ready to support him as their next superstar.
