Victor Wembanyama’s agent DISSES America over Britney Spears incident, WARNS Spurs rookie of future in country
Controversial "Welcome to America" moment - Victor Wembanyama's agent reflects on Britney Spears incident.

Britney Spears and Victor Wembenyama
Victor Wembanyama, the highly praised French basketball player who recently made his move to the United States, found himself involved in controversy after a recent incident involving pop icon Britney Spears. While Wembanyama was not directly responsible for the incident, his security guard accidentally hit Spears in the face when she approached him from behind, causing a major controversy.
Critics argued that Wembanyama should have apologized for the incident, but his agent, Bouna Ndiaye, offered a different perspective. In an interview with Marc Spears of Andscape, Ndiaye stated that the incident served as a “Welcome to America” moment for his client.
“The Britney Spears [incident] was a very good ‘Welcome [to] America’ moment,” Ndiaye said. “Small in a sense, but big in a sense. That was nothing. But there was so much noise for nothing and it turned into something … He was just walking. He didn’t do anything. But it shows you in America, everything is much bigger than anywhere else in the world.”
He described the situation as being quite small, emphasizing that Wembanyama had done nothing wrong. However, he acknowledged the exaggerated response the incident received, highlighting the tendency for events involving celebrities to become blown out of proportion in the United States.
Victor Wembanyama takes a break from media attention

Victor Wembanyama has stated his wish for a little escape from the spotlight following the Spears incident and the various media engagements he had completed since his arrival in the United States. After an impressive performance in his second Summer League game, Wembanyama announced his intention to take a break from media engagements for a couple of months.
The San Antonio Spurs, Wembanyama’s new team, also made the decision to shut him down for the remainder of the Summer League. This break will afford the young player some much-needed peace of mind before the regular season begins.
As the regular season approaches, the spotlight will undoubtedly be back on the talented Frenchman. It remains to be seen how he will navigate the increased media attention and the pressures that come with playing in the NBA.
