Wembanyama got a taste of what it means to be part of the Spurs culture on Friday night when he had dinner with some of the team’s legends: Tim Duncan, David Robinson, and Manu Ginóbili. The trio of Hall of Famers and former champions welcomed Wembanyama to the Spurs family and shared their wisdom and advice with him.

Wembanyama said he was honored and grateful for the opportunity to learn from them. “In probably a couple hours, I learned more about the NBA than I learned my whole life before, you know?” he said. “It’s so comforting to see that these people who are so important to the city of San Antonio and to the franchise are such kind people, and generous… I feel like they’ve already started to take great care of me. It’s just so comforting to be in that position.

Wembanyama has been compared to players like Kevin Durant due to his combination of size, skill, mobility, and shooting ability.
