Victor Wembanyama made his much-awaited debut against another rookie big man who the fans were waiting to see on the court. In the battle of the big men, Chet Holmgren faced off against the French phenomenon in their debut games for their NBA teams, as the Oklahoma City Thunder faced off against the San Antonio Spurs.

Both rookies showed off their incredible skill set in their debut. Chet scored 21 points and 9 rebounds, whereas. Wembanyama scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. The game was very back and forth with the Thunder clenching a very close 122-121 win against the Texans. Wemby looked incredibly versatile and had a very smooth layup which had the audience hyped.

Wembanyama flexed on Chet after the move, but Chet revealed that the move wasn’t a swift move to the basket, but it was a headbutt that Wembanyama hit Chet with which sent Chet on the floor. He went on X to share his take on the move. He tweeted, “The headbutt is an unstoppable move fasho,” clapping back at Wembanyama for the move.

The Battle of the Big Men this season between Chet Holmgren and Victor Wembanyama

Victor Wembanyama and Chet Holmgren are two of the biggest prospects in the recent history of the league. Both are versatile big men, with Wembanyama having the quick handles and shooting skills of a guard. Chet, who was drafted with the second pick last year, couldn’t play due to an injury he suffered before the season and After Wemby was drafted, it became clear that the battle between big men would be a sight to watch.
