Dillon Brooks has made a name for himself as a regular pest and troll on the court. He has been frequently seen trash-talking opponents and pulling off antics in games. One would’ve hoped that he would’ve learned not to talk smack unnecessarily after last year’s playoff series against the Lakers. He was absolutely destroyed by the Lakers team after he ran his mouth.

It appears he hasn’t however. And the latest target of his comments is the first pick of the 2023 draft – Victor Wembanyama. A week ago, Brooks was asked what he thought about Wembanyama. He said:

He's tall, and that's really it.

However, it appears Wembanya exacted his revenge against Brooks in the match today.

In a clip that has gone viral, Wembanyama can be seen pointing to Brooks after scoring over him late in the fourth quarter in the Rockets vs. Spurs match.

To add insult to injury, the Spurs also beat the Rockets in today’s game, winning the game by 4 points, 126-122. Brooks had a decent performance though. He recorded 17 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists during his 39 minutes on the court. Obviously, it wasn’t enough and the Rockets are going to need to find a way to up their offense.

How did Victor Wembanyama perform against the Rockets?

Wembanyama played only his second regular season game in the NBA during his matchup with the Houston Rockets. All things considered, he put up excellent numbers and was instrumental in the Spurs’ victory.

Despite going 0-6 from the 3-point line and 7-19 from the field, Wembanyama still registered 21 points in the 31 minutes he was on the court. He also got an assist, 3 blocks and 12 rebounds.

Despite these numbers, it was clear that he wasn’t as efficient as he needed to be. Hopefully, as the season progresses, the Spurs coaching staff can help him out with his shooting. It will be interesting to see how he turns out towards the latter half of the season.
