Victor Wembanyama made his mark in NBA history on Thursday night as the San Antonio Spurs selected him with the No.1 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. The 7-foot-4 phenom from France has been hailed as the best prospect since LeBron James and has a bright future ahead of him in the league. But while he was enjoying his moment with his family, another Wembanyama caught the attention of many NBA fans on social media: his sister, Eve.

Eve Wembanyama, who is also a basketball star for France and ASVEL in the EuroLeague Women, was sitting next to her brother during his post-draft interview. She looked gorgeous in a black dress and her smile and support for her brother warmed the hearts of many NBA fans online.

Victor Wembanyama had always dreamed of being the No. 1 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, but when it finally happened and Adam Silver announced his name, he was overcome with emotion.

Wemby couldn’t hold back the tears as he hugged his brother, sister, and family in one of the most memorable post-draft interviews ever.

“It’s just, accomplishing something that I’ve been dreaming of my whole life,” Wembanyama told ESPN’s Monica McNutt. “Hearing that sentence from [NBA commissioner] Adam Silver, you know, I’ve dreamed of it so much. I got to cry, man.”

This is a huge day for the Spurs, a milestone for the Wembanyama family, and the beginning of a new era with a player who is unlike anyone we’ve ever seen. Now that he’s officially in the NBA, Wemby can pause and savor the feelings of his historic night.
