Victor Wembanyama and the unreal hype around him is already having a major impact on the league. The San Antonio Spurs bagged the No. 1 draft pick for this year and then correctly drafted the generational prospect, Victor Wembanyama. This move of theirs didn’t just add some great talent to their roster, but also gave their profits a big boost. The ticket price surged and the franchise even had to release 1,500 additional tickets.

Victor Wembanyama and Spurs’ summer league matchup against the Charlotte Hornets also became the second most viewed summer league game ever. And, now Wemby’s hype is also having a direct impact on the league’s latest and exciting addition, NBA In-Season Tournament. On Tuesday afternoon, NBA revealed the schedule for its first-ever In-Season Tournament.

The league is giving the fans exactly what they want. As they are showing off their No. 1 pick via the tournament and its screening. The San Antonio Spurs are the only team from the league to have more than 2 out of 4 of its group play games to be telecasted on ESPN and TNT. Star-studded teams like the Golden State Warriors, Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Lakers, and others have a maximum of two games being telecasted on ESPN and TNT.

The league has really valued the rookie, Wembanyama over the many influential modern superstars and faces like Stephen Curry, LeBron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Luka Doncic, and others. But it does make sense as everyone is excitingly waiting for Victor’s league debut. The NBA In-Season Tournament begins on Nov. 3 and the championship game for the NBA Cup Trophy will be played on Dec. 9.

The games being played in the tournament will be counted for the regular season except for the Championship game. All 30 teams have been divided into 6 groups: three from the Eastern Conference and three from the Western Conference.

Wembanyama and the Spurs are grouped with the Sacramento Kings, Minnesota Timberwolves, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Golden State Warriors. They’ll start their run for the Group Play which is from 3rd November to 28th November on 10th November against the Minnesota Timberwolves at home. Then they’ll take the road to battle against Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Chet Holmgren’s Oklahoma City Thunder on 14th November.

Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs will then be back at home and host the Sacramento Kings on November 17th. They’ll end their group play games on the road against the Stephen Curry-led Golden State Warriors on November 24th.

The fans hope Spurs become one of the only eight teams which will advance to the Knockout rounds. So they can enjoy some more competitive Wemby actions while the team stays alive with the chances of bagging the first-ever NBA Cup Trophy.
