Warriors coach Steve Kerr slams ‘dirty’ Dillon Brooks over hard foul on Gary Payton II
Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr has always looked out for his players be it on or even off the court. Having always trusted his men from the front, Kerr was super upset when Dillon brooks caused Gary Payton II to head into the locker room. Given the importance of the 29-year-old, Stev Kerr could not help but call out Brooks for his dirty play.
To those who missed the particular incident in the first quarter, Gary Payton II found a clear path to the basket, for which he decided to make a strong. But the Grizzlies star was in no mood to give an easy two and went onto purposely hit the scorer on his head, giving out the foul. Making Steve Kerr evidently, super upset with the play.

After the first quarter, Steve Kerr expressed his dismay over the play. The Warriors knew the Grizzlies would be physical in the game, but for him, the hit goes beyond just that. To be fair, it was indeed an unnecessary play. It’s hard to blame Steve Kerr for calling it dirty since Dillon Brooks really had no need to block the shot since he was a step too late. He wasn’t even in the way of Gary Payton II.
“That wasn’t physical, that was dirty.”

Gary Payton II was a handy weapon for Steve Kerr whenever he wanted to rest his marquee stars. Given his ability on either ends of the court, the Golden State Warriors would be looking to avenge his injury. On the other hand, with Brooks having to be ruled out of the game within the initial minutes of Game 2, he surely has increased the pressure upon his teammates who are as it is trailing in this particular semi-final series.
