“Short heighted n**gas” Warriors stop their pre-game workout after the hoop proves to be too high for them

Warriors and the rim at Celtics

The Golden State Warriors faced some drama hours before the tip-off of Game 3 of the NBA Finals at TD Garden against the Boston Celtics. The Dubs took the court early to practice and make some shots as Game 3 was very important to them and they wanted the early lead. But due to something very unfortunate they had to stop the practice and delay their pre-game workout. As they experienced something every hooper hates. As they noticed the rim to be a bit high than the regular height.

First, it wasn’t believed by many but once the inspection was done it was found true and the players were right about the rim being a bit high. The Warriors wanted to take no chance as the series was already tied and the Celtics are already the defensive experts who are trying to take over the game. Still, there are no answers to the rim being intentionally raised, or was it just a human error.

But many fans and especially the old heads around are remembering Red Auerbach has having the rim a bit high can be one of the oldest tricks the head coach had in his book to mess up with the visiting opponents like the soft spots on the floor. He was also successful in pulling them off so the Warriors were already prepared and that was really a good read by the players who went out early to practice. But the Golden State Warriors after almost coming back in the closely contested and head-to-head game fell on the unfortunate losing end. The final box score stands at 116-100 favoring the Boston Celtics. A 16-points embarrassing loss for the Warriors.

Even Head Coach Steve Kerr got a piece of it as he laughingly quoted: “Players have a really sharp eye for that. Players can tell. I imagine somebody went out there, looked at it, didn’t look right. So as long as they take care of it, then everything is good. It’s a good thing the game starts at midnight. We’ll have plenty of time to fix it.” Find some of many reactions posted by fans on social media platforms regarding the too high rim here below:
