Shawn Kemp, a former Seattle Supersonics player, was detained by police on Monday after an altercation with another car in Seattle. Apparently, during the altercation, the former NBA player fired a revolver. Kemp can be seen shooting several bullets at the other car while leaning out his car window in surveillance video taken by onlookers.

Police records state that before the shooting started, Kemp and the other driver got into a verbal argument. Police said they found shot casings at the scene, but the other driver was unharmed.

Shawn Kemp, an NBA All-Star six times over the course of his career, was detained by police and accused of reckless endangerment and illegal possession of a firearm. He was later granted bail and released.

The incident has sparked significant public outrage at the use of firearms to settle disagreements, as well as widespread worry and condemnation. Also, Shawn Kemp has come under fire for being a bad role model for young people who may look up to him.

Shawn Kemp has had legal issues previously, so this is not the first time he has been embroiled in controversy. He was detained in 2005 for the possession of cocaine and marijuana, and in 2013 he was accused of driving under the influence.
