WATCH: Chris Paul PLEADING Scott Foster goes viral, Suns veteran reacts ignorant
Chris Paul was seen pleading to Scott Foster during his jinx-breaking win over the Los Angeles Clippers

Chris Paul broke a 13-game losing streak against NBA referee Scott Foster and was seen pleading to him during the game in a viral clip. The Phoenix Suns picked up a 123-109 win over the Los Angeles Clippers in game 2 of the first round of the playoffs. Chris Paul came up clutch in the fourth quarter scoring 8 of his 16 points in that period.
CP3 can be seen putting his hands together and pleading to Scott Foster while the Clippers took free throws. In his post-game interview, the NBA veteran was asked about breaking the curses, where he said, “I ain’t notice. We are all about in this run minimizing distractions. That is what it is. The league know what it is.” Paul has taken part in numerous playoff series over the years but had never won a game officiated by Scott Foster.
One reporter asked Chris Paul about his ‘pleading’ motion during the game, to which he replied, “I don’t know, I gotta watch the game over. [Smiles.] I gotta watch the game over.” The entire room of reporters laughed as Paul smiled and ended the interview. Chris Paul has never vocalized his dispute with Scott Foster, but his cheeky smile at the end of the interview says it all.
Chris Paul and his history of defeats against Scott Foster
Paul has defeated just about everyone in the NBA playoffs, but historically, his stiffest competition hasn’t even been an athlete. No, if you examine the statistics, Paul has had the most difficulty with referee Scott Foster. Before Tuesday night, the future Hall of Famer had lost all 13 of his postseason games handled by Foster, though his Suns did manage to win Game 2 of the 2021 Western Conference Finals without Paul in a game run by Foster.
Foster presided over Paul’s first Game 7, a 2008 defeat of the New Orleans Hornets by the San Antonio Spurs. He oversaw several crucial games involving Chris Paul’s Houston Rockets and his final contest as an Oklahoma City Thunder player, which ended in a defeat to the same Rockets. Even the NBA Finals Games 3 and 6 in 2021, which the Suns lost in both games and terminated their season, were overseen by him.
Paul won’t likely win that championship for at least a few more months, but he did manage to remove at least one monkey from his back on Tuesday. Foster was present when the Suns upset the Los Angeles Clippers, tying the first-round series at one game each and officially snapping Paul’s 13-game playoff losing run. Paul dropped 16 points in the win but didn’t shoot a single free throw.
