The NBA playoffs are heating up as expected. The Los Angeles Lakers and Memphis Grizzlies facing off in Game 3 is now more than just basketball. Fans wait in anticipation for LeBron James and Dillon Brooks to face off against each other. The heat in Game 3 comes after the altercations between Brooks and James in Game 2. Brooks has always had a reputation for playing hard and trash-talking. However, many would’ve expected him to play a calmer version of his usual game against James. He had other plans.

Ahead of Game 3, Brooks and LeBron were seen having a word with each other during the pregame ritual. The visuals stirred up excitement among the fans as they expected an interesting clash between the two players. Many critics have also noted that riling up James wasn’t the wisest of decisions, and Brooks might see the Lakers superstar’s brutal skill on the court. Following the two players’ words during the pregame, Brooks was ejected from Game 3 for hitting James in the groin.

The atmosphere in Los Angeles is surely charged today, given the context of the game. During the third quarter of Game 2, James and Brooks got at it. The Lakers were down 50-66 when James made an impressive field goal jumper getting LA to 52 shortly after he was seen mouthing words to Brooks, who clapped his hands hard to rile the Lakers forward up.

Speaking about the scuffle to reporters after the game, Brooks went ahead to call the four-time NBA champion old. “I don’t care. He’s old,” he said when asked about whether or not it was wise to talk trash to one of the veteran players in the league. Following the events of Game 2, it was imperative that the Los Angeles Lakers stood behind their front runner as the Brooks-James scuffle grew to be exciting for a playoff series.

The first-round series between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Memphis Grizzlies is become interesting game by game. LA put up an interesting show in Game 1. However, Memphis bounced right back in Game 2 and defended their home court without Ja Morant. As James mentioned after the game, the Lakers had plans for Memphis but didn’t execute them well enough.

Heading to Los Angeles into Game 3, the series was tied 1-1. Ja Morant returned for the Grizzlies, and the game promised to be exciting. Needless to say that the Laker-Grizzlies series is now one of the more exciting matchups in the West, if not the entire playoffs. The Lakers had clear intentions of defending their home court and were certainly successful in doing so.

Fans made up many theories about what James told Brooks pre-game.

While some said that James told Brooks he f**ked up big time, others used the recent Twitter fiasco in a humorous manner.

Despite Morant’s heroic 45-point game, the Lakers picked up a commanding victory over the Grizzlies. The scores stood at 101-111 at the end of regulation as Los Angeles now has a 2-1 series lead heading into Game 4.
