Jaylen Brown and Giannis Antetokounmpo's heated moment
Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jaylen Brown got into a heated altercation nearing the end of their Christmas battle. The Boston Celtics got themselves a blowout win against the Milwaukee Bucks. As Giannis Antetokounmpo and his team were speechless watching the Celtics run the offense through Jayson Tatum.
The C’s hosted the Bucks at TD Garden for the Christmas Showdown. The Celtics had taken over good control of the game since the starting minutes. And, eventually, they were successful in putting the Bucks away. As Giannis Antetokounmpo wasn’t playing his game out there and had to walk out with an embarrassing loss.
The Boston Celtics won it all at 139-118. Giannis Antetokounmpo was frustrated watching his team fall on the unfortunate losing end. And, his actions were loud and clear enough to understand how disappointed he was with himself and his team. As he threw an elbow on Jaylen Brown just to calm himself down.
In the fourth quarter with three minutes and forty-one seconds remaining for the game to end. The officials had to stop the game and separate Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jaylen Brown. They were ready to square up and throw hands. It all started with Jaylen pushing Giannis Antetokounmpo down to the floor to get rid off of the screen he was setting up.
This didn’t age well with Giannis Antetokounmpo as getting up the first thing he did was throw an elbow on Jaylen. Both being one of the toughest guys in the league didn’t step down and kept trash-talking each other. Greek Freak who was earlier dunked on by Jayson Tatum also a got a technical foul issued for his actions on the court.
Jaylen Brown opens up about the altercation with Giannis Antetokounmpo
During the post-game interview, Jaylen Brown addressed the heated moment he had with Giannis Antetokounmpo. While doing so he said: “I’m not really sure what happened. I thought I was playing pretty physical defense. Nothing dirty. Seemed like it was a clean play. Maybe he was a little bit frustrated, got up and threw an elbow at me for whatever reason. It was a lot of chirping and talking in between.” Things though during the heated moment were quite serious. As the Bucks’ bench, especially, Thanasis got into the discussion and exchanged a few lines with Marcus Smart. But fortunately, everyone was held back and later the officials even had Freak and Brown talking it out.
In the game, carrying the Celtics across Jayson Tatum dropped 41 points, 5 assists and 7 rebounds. Jaylen Brown backing him up contributed with 29 points, 4 assists and 5 rebounds. Giannis wasn’t able to do much of the damage as he was limited to only 27 points, 3 assists and 9 rebounds. Jrue Holiday though stepped up and handed out 23 points, 7 assists and 6 rebounds. Both the teams still rank the same and are one of the best teams in the league. As they rule the eastern conference.
