The superstar of the Memphis Grizzlies, Ja Morant, has a proud father named Tee Morant who is also his greatest critic. Whether at home in the FedEx Forum or away, the older Morant is frequently spotted in the stands during his son’s games. Tee occasionally gets into arguments with players and their parents too.

Recently in a game against the Lakers, Morant was seen getting into an argument with famous sports analyst and former NFL player Shannon Sharpe. Sharpe and Morant getting into an altercation is now going viral all over the internet.

While the Memphis Grizzlies were in town to play the Los Angeles Lakers, Shannon Sharpe got into a verbal argument with Steven Adams and Ja Morant’s father. Sharpe, a tight end who is now a sports broadcaster and a member of the NFL Hall of Fame, was observed shoving Tee Morant while Adams continued to yell at him.

Security eventually got involved to break up the altercation between Sharpe and Morant, preventing it from getting worse. Basketball was the last thing anyone expected Shannon Sharpe to become angry about this weekend, with NFL playoff games coming thick and fast. But he has demonstrated over the years on his show with Skip Bayless that he has strong opinions on the game. Thankfully, a fight did not break out physically and was only limited to verbal jousting.

What led to the fight between Ja Morant’s dad and Shannon Sharpe

No one expected the fight to break out between Shannon Sharpe and the rest and it wasn’t immediately evident what had occurred. Shannon Sharpe was in the tunnel with security for halftime, though, before coming out for the third quarter. He said that Dillon Brooks was the origin of the conflict. He claimed he lacked the size to stop LeBron James.

The Grizzlies player responded by demanding Sharpe to go while using an obscenity, to which Shannon also responded. Before Ja Morant arrived and stepped in to help, the player allegedly warned him that Brooks would not want these issues. This escalated to the point when Steven Adams and other players, including Ja Morant’s father, intervened on his son’s behalf.

All fights are usually broken up by Steven Adams. Given his physical attributes, he typically succeeds. But no matter whether he gets involved or not, one thing never changes. He never loses his cool. He supposedly made an exception, though, when he witnessed Tee Morant and Shannon Sharpe fighting.
