WATCH: Kevin Durant sends Mavs’ Luka Doncic flying with a blatant shove
Kevin Durant and Luka Doncic
Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant is known for his trash-talking, sassy attitude, and fiery gameplay when he is on the court playing for his team. But during the last match that the Nets played against the Dallas Mavericks, one can say that things got a bit physical when he faced-off the Mavs star Luka Doncic. However, the Mavs ended up pocketing a closely contested game.
The Brooklyn Nets recently clashed against the Dallas Mavericks at Barclays Center. During this game, when there were about 7 mins for the 3rd quarter to end, the Nets player Royce O’Neal stole the ball away from the Mavs offense and sprinted towards the basket with Kevin and another Nets’ player backing him up. Royce successfully converted a lay-up and collected 2pts for his team. After that moment, Kevin pushed Luka Doncic and sent him flying off the court while he was trying to defend Royce.
Unluckily the referees didn’t call out anything for the push. It was clear that KD had pushed Luka, but no one could say anything about how much strength he applied or whether that was because of him being in motion or was it intentionally done. On the other hand, no one can also say whether Luka showed out some acting skills there before he got up as many think he faked the fall. Well, it’s better to move away from this incident than unnecessarily make various assumptions, as even the officials let the players continue the game after it.
Kevin Durant vs. Luka Doncic: a face-off that everyone must have enjoyed
Two superstars of the NBA, Luka Doncic and Kevin Durant, recently battled out and the young guard got the job done against one of the best duos in the league. Both teams are in a similar situation as they have had slow starts to their respective campaigns. This face-off between KD and Luka was the talking point before the game began.
Doncic ended up with 41 points, 14 assists, and 11 rebounds, and drilled three 3-pointers as the game went into overtime, but the Mavs came out as the better team with a 129-125 victory over the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday night. Kevin Durant scored 37 pts, while Kyrie Irving was the top scorer with 39 pts from their side.
KD and Luka are top basketball players, and it was interesting for the NBA fans to see them play against each other. Things did get quirky when Kevin pushed Luka, but all ended fine at last, and everyone got a chance to see an exciting match-up. With a long season ahead, both teams will be looking to cut short their problem areas and make a significant impact in the ongoing season.
