In a Christmas Day showdown at the Footprint Center, Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns hosted the Dallas Mavericks. Unfortunately for the Suns, the game concluded with a 128-114 victory for the away team, marking a third consecutive defeat for the Suns, who have only secured one win in their last five games.

Claiming the top spot on the players’ statistics chart, Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks delivered an impressive performance with 50 points, 15 assists, and six rebounds. Despite a quieter game from Kevin Durant, Grayson Allen stepped up for the Suns, leading with 32 points, four rebounds, and four assists. Durant, in the end, contributed 16 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists.

Before every game, Kevin Durant engages in a unique pre-game warm-up routine, spinning twice before taking shots outside the field. However, before the Mavericks matchup, things didn’t unfold as smoothly as usual. During his customary pre-game warm-up shots, Durant experienced a moment of frustration as he appeared to miss his shots. This amusing incident was captured on video, leaving fans and viewers entertained.

This season, Kevin Durant has been delivering outstanding performances, averaging 30.3 points per game with an impressive field goal percentage of 51.8. Additionally, he boasts a remarkable 3-point percentage of 46.9, along with 6.2 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 0.8 steals, and 1.1 blocks per game.

Kevin Durant underperforms as the Mavericks down the Suns

The Phoenix Suns lost at home 128-114 to a Luka Doncic-inspired Dallas Mavericks in what proved to be an electrifying encounter. Kevin Durant had a night to forget as Doncic stole the show despite the absence of Kyrie Irving.

In a 43-minute game, Kevin Durant scored 16 points, shooting 4/11 from the field and 1/3 from beyond the arc. He also contributed with eight rebounds, seven assists, and one block. Notably, this game marked Durant’s lowest-scoring performance in the regular season. On the flip side, his best game of the season came against the Portland Trail Blazers, where, in 38 minutes of play, he scored 40 points, making an impressive 16/28 from the field.

Regarded as one of the greatest shooters in the NBA, Kevin Durant will be hoping that the display against the Mavs was merely a blip. Looking ahead, he will aim to play a pivotal role in helping the Suns bounce back to winning ways as they travel to face the Houston Rockets at the Toyota Center.
