LeBron James
Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James was seen getting booed in Memphis while entering the arena late in the first quarter. LeBron was seen wearing a walking boot due to the ankle injury he picked up against Dallas. The King has been sidelined for an indefinite amount of time despite being able to finish the game against Dallas. Memphis fans will not have an especially soft place in their heart for the Lakers considering the brawl between Shannon Sharpe and Memphis players earlier this season.
The video appears to show the crowd booing King James as he takes his seat at the FedEx Forum. The Lakers ended up losing the game 121-109 to the Grizzlies without LeBron James. LeBron was sorely missed as a floor general because the Lakers ended up committing 26 turnovers against Memphis. The Lakers did win their previous encounter against Memphis this season with Westbrook leading the way back then.
LeBron James’ career has been filled with doubters and haters so the King would not be fazed by this at all. LeBron gets boos and cheers at almost every arena he plays at. The way LeBron plays basketball is bound to draw haters and Memphis fans love to hate. Up until 2020, Memphis were a quiet franchise with a lack of success. However, now that they are getting wins, the fans have also upped their game. The Grizzlies are a playoff team now and the fans need to make their presence felt.
LeBron James is no stranger to a hostile reception

LeBron has seen a lot of success in his career but with success comes envy and hatred from others. When LeBron left Cleveland for Miami in 2010, Cavs fans were burning his jersey in the street and cursing his name. Fans in Cleveland vandalized everything with LeBron’s face on it from billboards to posters. LeBron’s first game back in Cleveland was scary to watch as the Cavs fans would not stop booing LeBron.
Outside of Cleveland, LeBron and the Boston Celtics have a mutual hatred for each other. LeBron has said on many occasions how racist he feels the fans in Boston are. “They racist as f*** man… They will say anything and it’s fine,” said LeBron on why he hates playing in Boston. LeBron famously got a beer thrown on him while leaving Boston after his historic performance in game 6 of the 2012 Eastern Conference Finals.
LeBron James came into this league with doubters and will leave this league with them too. As his career has progressed he has turned his haters into believers but new ones always seem to appear. After all, no one likes to see someone succeed forever and LeBron James is one of those players. LeBron James will have to get used to the boos as he will be on the sidelines for a while now as the Lakers fight for a playoff spot without him.
