Los Angeles Lakers hosted Golden State Warriors on Thursday at Crypto.com Arena. It might not have been a good night for LeBron James but he made some highlight plays in the game. Even in his 20th season and at the age of 38, James doesn’t seem to be declining at all. It was on full display on Thursday, as the 19 x All-Star displayed an unprecedented combination of basketball IQ and athleticism.
As it happened, during the first half of the game at the beginning of the second quarter, James was standing alone in the left corner. Dennis Schroder, who was at the top of the key, dribbled right beating Jordan Poole, who was defending him. Seeing his teammate running towards the basket, Schroder threw a lob from near the perimeter. James caught the ball in the air and made a massive dunk. The Lakers fans went wild in the stand watching their superstar player, defying gravity.
The video on social media has gone viral since it was posted and has attracted more than a hundred thousand views from users. It is nothing new for Laker fans to witness greatness from the King, but his display of athleticism is beyond imagination and an unprecedented view for basketball fans. Even at an age when basketball players take retirement and enjoy vacations at home, James continues to dominate the league. He is averaging 30.0 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 7.0 assists per game while shooting 50.8% from the field.
