LeBron James will be entering his 21st season in the NBA when he steps foot on the court later this month. Even at the age of 38, LeBron remains one of the top players in the league, which is unfathomable to imagine since many players can’t even average double digits during their twilight seasons. LeBron can still average 28 points and carry his team whenever required.

LeBron, who is currently 38, will be turning 39 this December. After the retirement of his former teammate Udonis Haslem last season, LeBron is officially the oldest player in the league. When he was told about this fact, he had a hilarious reaction. Later, in a video circulating on social media, LeBron dunks the ball and shows how athletic he still is, even though he will be playing in his 21st season.

LeBron James had a fabulous last season, making his 19th consecutive All-NBA appearance at the age of 38 while averaging 28.9 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 6.8 assists per game. He helped his team reach the Western Conference finals despite suffering a foot injury in February, showcasing his resilience and determination to help his team win.

LeBron James ready to pass the torch to Anthony Davis

During media day, LeBron talked about how Anthony Davis had become the face of the franchise, emphasizing that the Lakers were now Davis’ team and that he had done enough to be among the players whose jerseys were hanging from the rafters of the Staples Center.

Here is what he had to say:“He is the face [of the franchise],” James told ESPN during the Lakers’ annual media day Monday. “You look at all these [retired] numbers that surround this facility, all the greats that have come here and AD is one of them.”

When LeBron James went down with an injury back in February, it was Anthony Davis who played phenomenally and kept the Lakers afloat during the regular season. This allowed them to reach the play-in tournament and exceed expectations in the playoffs, making it to the Western Conference finals and silencing all doubts.
