Following a cardiac arrest, Bronny James, the eldest son of reigning NBA In-Season Tournament MVP and LA Lakers star LeBron James, made his college debut for the USC Trojans. He entered the game off the bench nearly five months after the health scare, contributing for sixteen minutes.

Receiving a standing ovation from the crowd, Bronny entered the game about seven minutes into the first half. Additionally, he contributed by assisting Vincent Iwuchukwu on a dunk. Despite missing his first shot, a three-pointer attempt, Bronny showcased notable performance as he was eased gradually into the team.

In his second three-minute stint, Bronny made a significant block on Jadon Jones, sparking cheers from The Galen Center crowd. His dad, watching courtside, witnessed the impactful play. By the end of the game, Bronny tallied four points, three rebounds, and two assists in 16 minutes, although the USC Trojans lost 84-79 in overtime.

Arriving while holding his daughter Zhuri, LeBron James Sr. was visibly seen cheering on his son. Bronny, had suffered a cardiac arrest on 20 July with a diagnosis revealing a treatable congenital heart defect. He was recently cleared by doctors to participate in full-contact practice. Initially restricted to weights, cardio, and shooting on his own, he has now progressed to more extensive involvement in team activities.
