Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat slumped to their eighth loss in their last 12 games in a 126-114 loss to the Orlando Magic. Jimmy Butler saved the Miami Heat in regulation with a clutch buzzer-beater three to take it to overtime. Butler had 38 points in the game, while no other Heat player even had 15. The Miami heats are the 7th seed in the East and three games away from the 8th seed now.

Despite Butler’s consistent heroics for the Heat, they need help finding wins. Miami was the #1 seed in the East last season. Losing to a tanking Orlando Magic team is just another dagger into their post-season hopes. Fans on Twitter were demanding Jimmy Butler get to a competitive team. Jimmy Butler himself might have a chuckle at a few of these tweets. Here are some of the best reactions:

Fans suggested that the front office be investigated for not giving Jimmy Butler enough support. Butler has seen the Miami Heat make a meek effort by getting him Kyle Lowry, who was prominent for only one season. The Miami Heat have struggled to create a consistent offense, as they have the 6th worst offensive rating in the league. Miami has dropped in standards significantly from last season.

The Miami Heat and Jimmy Butler’s possible playoff opponents

As it stands, Miami would face the two-seed Boston Celtics in the first round as they are the 2nd seed. Miami and Boston have been frequent playoff opponents over the past few years. These two powerhouses met in the conference finals in 2022 and 2020. They exchanged wins as the Celtics won in 2022 and the Heat in 2020. However, both of them could not win the championship.

However, they will have to get through the play-ins first, and that, as it stands, would be the Atlanta Hawks. The Heat took care of the Hawks in 5 games in the first round of last year’s playoffs. Trae Young had a terrible series as Butler led the way for Miami as they stormed through. Butler averaged 27 points and seven rebounds in the 2022 playoffs. However, it was his poorly-timed three-pointer that led to Miami’s demise.

The Miami Heat will most likely stay put at the 7th seed as there is a significant gap on either side, and all teams could be more consistent now. The Eastern Conference playoffs promise to be exciting, with the carpet being laid out for the Milwaukee Bucks and Boston Celtics in the conference finals. The Miami Heat eliminated the Bucks in 2020 and prevented that from happening. Only a drastic turn in form could produce such a result this season.
