The Pacers were able to fend off a virtually full-strength Heat squad that had its frequently injured superstars in the lineup thanks to Haliburton’s spectacular night. Indiana prevailed in a seesaw struggle when both sides took the best shots from the other side, thanks to their rising star point guard. Tyrese Haliburton’s career-high 20.0 points per match is a major factor in the Indiana Pacers’ superior performance. Along with 4.0 rebounds, 1.7 steals, and 10.6 assists each game, he also averages 4.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists.

Matt Barnes labels Wally Szczerbiak a “Bum-A** motherf—ker” for unnecessarily criticizing Tyrese Haliburton

After criticizing Tyrese Haliburton of the Indiana Pacers, Wally Szczerbiak received harsh remarks from Matt Barnes, a former NBA colleague. The 2001–2002 All-Star was referred to as a “bum-a** motherf—ker” by Barnes for his alleged disrespect of Haliburton. Additionally, he believed Szczerbiak’s remarks went too far in terms of analysis. When summarizing the New York Knicks’ 109-106 victory over the Pacers last Sunday, Szczerbiak—an analyst for MSG Network referred to Haliburton as a “wannabe fake All-Star”.
Haliburton handled Taylor Rooks’ statement with grace when he heard it. He claimed that one of the reasons he was shocked to hear such sharp criticism was because he hadn’t been pushing for an All-Star selection. After apologizing, Szczerbiak declared that the guard, 22, “is definitely in the All-Star conversation.”
However, the 22-year-old point guard isn’t only excelling against weak opposition. He has been doing equally well against the NBA’s top teams. In a victory last Wednesday on the road over the Boston Celtics, Haliburton was outstanding.
The former Sacramento Kings point guard scored 33 points on 12-24 shooting, including 6-13 from long range, in just 34 minutes of action against the Celtics. He capped it off against the Miami Heat two nights later with a scoring performance of his career. Tyrese Haliburton is proving that he is a superstar after spending a season and a half taking second place to De’Aaron Fox. He should be selected to the NBA All-Star squad this season before Fox given the way he is currently performing.
