Zion Williamson’s return and his impact on the New Orleans Pelicans
The 22-year-old forward, drafted as the 1st overall pick in the 2019 NBA draft, has proven himself to be an exceptional talent when healthy. However, his career has been marred by injuries, limiting him to just 29 games last season. Despite the restricted playing time, Williamson still managed to impress with impressive averages of 26 points, 7 rebounds, and 4.6 assists in an average of 33 minutes per game.
The Pelicans surely missed Williamson’s two-way impact and ability to attack the rim during the regular season, finishing 9th in the competitive Western Conference. With Williamson set to return for the upcoming season, there is hope that the young star will finally be able to showcase his full potential and lead the Pelicans to greater success.
As fans eagerly anticipate Williamson’s return to full fitness, the Pelicans are optimistic about his ability to turn the team’s fortunes around next season. With a healthy and rejuvenated Zion Williamson leading the charge, the New Orleans Pelicans look ready to make a strong push for the playoffs and establish themselves as a formidable force in the NBA.
