There is a possibility of the Golden State Warriors and the Sacramento Kings facing each other in the first round of the NBA playoffs in the Western Conference, indicating a potential collision between the two teams. The Warriors are currently hovering around the sixth seed, while the Kings are locked into the third seed. This potential matchup was hinted at during their recent game on April 8th, which saw the Warriors defeat the Kings 119-97 at the Golden 1 Center.

Although the Warriors have won three out of four games against the Kings this season, they have not been able to secure a victory against the Kings while playing away and facing the Kings at full strength. The recent win on Friday in Sacramento happened when the team rested DeAaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis.

Despite the loss, Kings forward Chimezie Metu told reporters after the game that his team is “not scared” of the Warriors or any other team. “They’re the defending champs. It’s going to be tough to go in there and go toe-to-toe. But we’re going to go in there and attack it head-on. We’re not scared of them. We’re not scared of anybody, one [seed] through eight [seed],” he said via NBC Sports Bay Area.

According to Charles Barkley and Kendrick Perkins’ predictions, the Sacramento Kings are expected to come out victorious in a playoff matchup against the Golden State Warriors.

Barkley made his prediction on TNT’s NBA Tip-Off on April 6, stating, “The Sacramento Kings are going to win a playoff series. Guaranteed! They’re going to be playing the Warriors or the [Los Angeles] Lakers, that’s a tough first-round series. They gon’ win a series.”

“I’m going to say this right now,” Perk prefaced on the March 13 edition of ESPN’s First Take. “They’d better stay the hell away from the Sacramento Kings, because no matter how young that Kings group is,”

He added:

“no matter how inexperience they be when it comes to the postseason, they have old souls… The Sacramento Kings are going to the Western Conference Finals. The Golden State Warriors, their championship days are over.”

If the Warriors and Kings do indeed face each other in the first round of the playoffs, it could be an exciting and intense matchup between two Northern California rivals. The Kings may be young and inexperienced in the postseason, but they have a fearless attitude and a strong belief in their ability to succeed.

Only time will tell which team will come out on top in this potential matchup, but one thing is certain: the NBA playoffs are sure to be full of surprises and exciting moments.
