The Los Angeles Clippers were eliminated from the playoffs in the first round after once again falling short of expectations. The team was one of the favourites to win the championship going into the season, but a string of injuries ruined their season.
Due to a knee injury he sustained at the end of the regular season, All-Star Paul George was unable to participate for the Clippers in their first-round matchup against the Phoenix Suns. After Game 2, the Clippers’ other star player, Kawhi Leonard, injured himself and was unable to continue. The Clippers found it impossible to contend in the playoffs with their two greatest players absent.
“This was very much a series we I think should have won and could have gotten past if we [were] healthy,” George said. “Absolutely I believe we had everything to beat Phoenix. It’s frustrating especially as years go up, you look back at this shit and like damn another year – not necessarily wasted – but another year of not getting a chance to compete. To get to the finish line and not be able to compete is the hardest part of it all.”
He then added: “Putting myself into a fan’s shoes, I get it, it is frustrating because to them, year after year they’re going through the same lulls of we got a great team, we got a chance to win, and then boom there’s something that happens, whether I get injured, Kawhi get injured. Or years before I got here. Not having a star player or not being able to get over the hump. So I get it. But, I will say, myself, Kawhi we’re doing everything we can. I train every summer to try and win a championship. I don’t take my summers for granted, neither does Kawhi.”
Paul George recently discussed how challenging the team’s recent seasons had been on a podcast. Every year, the Clippers want to win a title, but something always stands in the way. George is passionate about making things right because he appreciates the supporters’ unhappiness.
The Clippers have experienced injury issues in the playoffs previously. In fact, throughout the last few seasons, the team’s injuries seem to have been a reoccurring problem. Due to the roster’s getting older, the Clippers experience injuries more frequently than other teams.

Paul George and Clippers look to the Future and Aim for a Championship
The Los Angeles Clippers are confident about their future possibilities despite their recent playoff departure, and stars Paul George and Kawhi Leonard are dedicated to bringing a title to the city of angels.
Their clear purpose in joining the Clippers was to win a championship for LA, for owner Steve Ballmer, and for their own legacies. The team’s high expectations for George and Leonard have made them resolute to do things correctly.
Given their ageing roster, the Clippers must first resolve their persistent injury problems if they are going to achieve their dream of winning a championship. To have a greater chance of making the playoffs, the team must also work on its flaws and add depth to the roster. The Clippers are still a good team with a bright future in spite of these difficulties.
